Question:
What do you call a square pyramid that has had the top chopped off? Help.

Hi Monica

If the plane that cuts off the top of the pyramid is parallel to the base then the remaining figure is called the frustum of a square pyramid. If the plane that cuts off the top of the pyramid is not parallel to the base and if the cutting plane does not meet the actual base (i.e. it meets the plane of the base outside the base) then it is called a truncated square pyramid.
