If b = -2 what does -b = ? As in (a + 8.5) - [(-b) + |c|] a = 1.5, c = -1.7

Thanks,
Dennis (parent)

Hi Dennis,

If b = -2 then -b = -(-2) = 2. Thus if a = 1.5, b = -2 and c = -1.7 then

(a + 8.5) - [(-b) + |c|] =
(1.5 + 8.5) - [-(-2) + |-1.7|] =
(10) - [2 + 1.7] +
10 - 3.7 =
6.3

Cheers
Penny
