My name is terry i am 15 my question is how much does our planet
earth weigh ???? asked by my dad can you help
thanks terry
Hi Terry,
My reference book says that the volume of the earth is 1.083x10^{21} m^{3} (3.825x10^{22} ft^{3}) and the average density is 5.522x10^{3} kg/m^{3} (3.447x10^{2} lb/ft^{3}). Thus the mass is 1.083x10^{21} times 5.522 which is 5.980x10^{24} kg (3.825x10^{22} times 3.447x10^{2} which is 1.319x10^{25} lb).
Cheers,
Chris and Harley
