My name is Tim Merrill, I'm a 12th grade student.
"please help me out with these four algebra questions"
 Rewrite the following using positive exponents only.
xy ^{3}

x ^{2}
 Find the following quotients.
9a^{3}+3a^{2}+6a

3a

12x^{2}37x+21

(4x3)

x^{2}  36

(x+6)
Thank You!
Hi Tim,

Look for a common factor in the numerator and then perform any cancellation that you can. Now see if you can factor what remains.

Factor the numerator. I would try first to see if (4x 3) is a factor in the numerator.

This is a place where the ability to recognize a pattern is important in algebra. You need to see that the numerator is a difference of squares and then use this fact to factor it.
