Subject: Calculator

Hello, my name is Thomas Smith. I am in the tenth grade. this isnt really a mathematical question. Our geometry teacher offered us extra credit if we could find out why the number 7 instead of 1 is first at the top of the numerical part of the calculator.

On a keyboard, why is the number "7" on the top of the keypad as opposed to the number "1" at the top a telephone keypad? Please respond
