Question: If a triangle of base 6 has the same area as a circle of radius 6, what is the altitude of the triangle? I am having trouble with altitude.

Hi Wendy,

If the height of the triangle is h then its area is (1/2)6*h = 3h. The area of a circle with radius 6 is pi*62. If the areas are equal then 3h = pi*62. Now solve for h.
