Subject: formula for figuring a tanks volume at various levels.
Name: Dave
Who are you: Other

I know there has to be a general formula to figure out a tanks volume where as you know the total volume but you need to know what it will hold at various levels measured in 1/8th inches in depth and that you may be able to plug this formula into a program like say excel and thus create a chart unique to that tank. But for the lack of me I can not figure it out. Any suggestions? Thank you

Take a look at this question from Andy that we answered yesterday. You didn't say what shape of tank you are interested in, but if it is a cylinder lying on its side, then you can just substitute the radius of your tank in place of the 5 we used and you'll have your general formula.
