Question from Kay, a student:

I need to find the area of a hexagon where each side is 400 ft. I also have to find how many acres that is.

Hi Kay,

If this is a regular hexagon then you can use Stephen's expression for the area of a regular polygon. Since your length is in feet this will give the area in square feet. There are 43560 square feet in an acre so if you divide the area in square feet by 43560 you will get the area in acres.
