Hi Amber, I am going to label the points A = (3,0), B = (7,0), etc. The points A, B and F = (1,0) all lie on the X-axis so you actually have a pentagon. Divide the figure into two parts with the diagonal BD. FBDE is a trapezoid and hence you can find its area. The area of the triangle that remains, BCD, can be found using Heron's formula.
