Question from josh, a student: i have a project due friday and i need to know, how are decimals and fractions used in our daily lives. i am having trouble coming up with ideas. i need seven more that don't involve money or recipes. please |

I can suggest a few for you.
- Claude mentions percentages and probabilities in his response to a question similar to yours.
- How about notes on a musical scale, like half notes and quarter notes.
- The magnitude of an earthquake is measured using the Richter scale.
- We receive questions from people who want to know the number of acres in their property. The answer quite often involves a fraction of an acre.
- I'm thinking about purchasing a new 13-inch MacBook. I have a choice of a 2.0 GHz or a 2.4 GHz processor.
