Averaging percentages 2009-06-14
From Alan:
Can you add percentages and then divide them by the number of percentages to get the average percentage. I.E day 1 100% day 2 100% day 3 95% average= 98.3%

is the above possible or is it not done, I have a dispute with a work colleague over this.

many thanks

Averaging percentages 2009-02-21
From Chris:
Ok I'll give you a simple example of what I'm doing. Lets say that on one forum, a memebr has made 52 posts out of the 412 posts made altogether. Then on another forum, the same person has made 10 posts out of the 60 posts altogether. What percentage of the posts has this person made in these 2 fourms combined.

Averaging grades 2002-10-24
From Richard:
I'm using a grading program for the first time this year. (ok, that's not a question) I require my students to record their grades in a Scorekeeper when they get them back. I'd like to know if my students can keep up with averaging their grades just as the grading programs automatically averages them when I put them in the spreadsheet.
