How long would it take the students to arrive at their campsite 2009-09-18

..."A group of 5th grade student in New Zealand are going camping. They will hike from Wellingto to Ruapehu. Then they will follow a trail for another 1/2 mile to their campsite." Ok, 1 mile equals 5,280 feet. The class decided one step length is equal to 15 inches and there are 85 steps in 1 minute. Now for the question: About how long would it take the students to arrive at their campsite, if they don't make any stops???

I have 14 dart teams. Each team has a home bar.Usually it is one week home, the next week away. I have 3 locations that have one board only, yet have 2 teams at each location. I have one location that has 2 dart boards, and 3 teams. The last location have 3 dart boards and 4 teams.Can you make me a schedule that will be home and away, and every teams plays each other twice. Surface area of a dome 2009-09-16

Why is the calculation for the surface area of a domed tank less than the surface area of a flat top tank. Using domed tank formula 2*pi*r(r-(r-dome ht) works out to be less surface area than a flat top tank area formula pi*r x r, Shouldn't the dome have more surface area than the flat surface ?
