From Jan: A rectangular field is 63m long and 21m wide. A fence of 2m in height is needed to fence the field and fencing is also required to divide the field in three square sections. There are three wooden gates measuring at 1.5m to the three sections of the field. What is the total surface area of the fence needed for fencing and diving the field? Answered by Penny Nom. |

From Darlene: Question from Darlene, a parent:
A farmer has 10,000 meters of fencing to use to create a rectangular field. He
plans on using some of the fencing to divide the rectangular field into two
plots of land by constructing a fence inside the rectangle that is parallel to one
of the sides. Let X be the width of the rectangular field. Write an equation
to express the area of the field as a function of X. Find the value of X that
